Client Reviews

Ok I did not obtain this on Amazon, I got it at a local expo show and paid a tiny alot more but it is the exact same heli. This is a especially good helicopter and despite other reviews appears to be highly durable. To give an example I have crashed many times, such as into the ground, into a tree, a telephone pole, a steel automotive lift (the things that lift automobiles in mechanic shops), while I have a handful of dents and dings in the rotors they are still solid and it nevertheless flies. The balance bar bent as well but I just bent it back and all is well. I would call that pretty great contemplating some of the additional high dollar helis like my buddy has the rotor will shatter upon contact with a solid surface.
There is a understanding curve to flying this. Just simply because it is a gyro copter, dont believe that you can just take it out and fly with out crashing. I had a tough time finding off the ground for the to begin with day, ground impact came in and made it go left every single time. Following some practice and messing with the trim tabs on day 2 I got definitely fantastic at it. It is affected by wind but ALL helicopters are. This is to incorporate true helicopters. Not some thing I usually bring up but in this case it could aid, I use to be on a flight line with the AH-64A and AH-64D on a normal basis, I also worked on the guidance systems and weapons. Wind has a dramatic have an effect on on a substantial heli so little winds can and will knock an RC to the ground. To get started mastering either do it on a day with no wind or find a fitness center/auditorium to start.
Battery time is not bad, I get about 15 minutes per charge, it takes about two.5 hrs to recharge the battery. I just ordered five a lot more batteries right here on amazon so that I can get about an hour or alot more of play time before having to wait on a charge. Overall I am satisfied with the obtain and actually am going to get 1 for my buddy who paid over 400 on his Pro heli that is too hard to get off the ground. I figure use these a finding out tool then get to the larger extra advanced 4 - 6 channel helis.
Once again just a suggestion, but get beneficial with it at about 1.five - two ft off the ground to begin with. Its tougher to fly closer to the ground due to the fact of ground effects so if you can get superior close to the ground you will need to have no concerns higher in the air.

For the value, you in fact get a pretty decent piece of hardware. That getting mentioned, there are a handful of modifications I would make before use. It says ready to fly on the box, and fly it will... how well is most certainly open to debate. The initially issue is to remove the canopy, loosen the battery, and slide it most of the way forward, then tighten the mounting bracket down again. This will move the center of gravity forward. This is essential for the reason that with no carrying out this, you literally can't fly forwards. Other mods to boost maneuverability are to shorten the tail boom, slide the landing skids forward (easy), and replace the rear tail rotor with 1 of these: [...]
Just after replacing the rear rotor you will have to move the rear stabilizers up on the boom to make space for the larger blades.
Yet another mod that aids a lot is to replace the battery with a larger a single, like a 15c 7.4v 3000mah. This also improves the flight characteristics by raising weight in the nose, and over all (much less likely to be batted about by the wind)
Make confident to acquire a complete set of replacement parts. You will have to have them... the helicopter is difficult, dont get be wrong (I have crashed from 40+ feet with little to no harm) but there are breakable parts like the blade holders. (they are low cost, buy a hand full)
And here is a link to a forum which has a lot of wonderful information about how to make this fine tiny chopper a fantastic one particular. For the price tag, its truly a wonderful deal.

A lot of folks seem to knock this helicopter considering that they don't ever want to function on it. That is part of the hobby... Enhancing and repairing the equipment. Its not all that complicated, and the parts are Low cost, which is a boon. There are a number of 'hobby grade' helicopters out there you could invest a lot much more capital on that possibly fly improved and so on... but the price of maintainability goes WAY up. Take into account that for an initial investment of ~$60 its pretty a hoot.
